Accreditation and a common standard of competence are increasingly relevant in a globalized economy and increasing transnational education. The International Alliance serves society by promoting global standards for engineering programmes and recognizing quality accreditation systems. To achieve it's goal, the constituents of the International Engineering Alliance meet together each year.
The IEA meetings are an opportunity for the organisations that make up the alliance to consider strategic issues relating to best practice in accreditation, discuss policies and procedures, hear accreditation reviews and make decisions on applications for membership.
The IEAM for 2016 was hosted by the Board of Engineers Malaysia at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
